[...] So as we continue this discussion from the “get uncomfortable” conference that the Focus Young Adults Ministry (20-somethings) put together, it is important for us to examine the character of God. Before we can talk about what to do, we must first examine who God is, and try to discover His will. This message is delivered by Zeb Abalos. I really appreciate this young man’s heart to see God move. Check out the video now… [...]

[...] A while back I wrote a post about “getting uncomfortable.” The Young Adults Ministry that I lead had just gotten done putting together a conference-style event based on the Get Uncomfortable study by Todd Phillips. At that time I really felt like God had rocked my world, as well as several others in our group. Since then, we have all been on a mission to impact the world around us more, and it has been an amazing ride! [...]

Very cool - sounds very much like what Pastor/Author Dutch Sheets does in terms of praying for the nation and the government etc - a very interesting assignment, indeed. Let me know how the prayer walks go!

The crazy thing is that I went into the event knowing what all of the content was. I had the responsibility of putting the event together and making sure that everyone was prepared to do their parts. But God still rocked me!

Starting in the next couple of weeks, the group is going to start some "prayer walks" in downtown Sarasota, FL. The idea is that as we pray for God to show us what we should be doing, we will be out on the streets praying for our city, maybe doing a little worship on the streets, and hopefully talking to the people...

I am praying that God rocks our group during this time!

wow Dan - it is an amazing and humbling thing to feel that burden - or should I say assignment - to help others. Obviously God had something very personal for you in that conference. I feel it too at times and then at others I conveniently sweep it under the rug - darn flesh. This post again reminds me that there is so much more I (and all of us) should be doing. thanks. m
