major doctrines: sin and salvation

Ok, I will Comment!!! I will Say that was interesting listen to. It seems that in this day of age there has been a lot of confusion about the entire Chosen, Pre-destine, and the Do we really have free Will stuff. Looking at scriptures God had Chosen the people of Israel but he had continually handed them over to their sin until they repented. Even now Christ says in
Revelations 3:20 Look! I am standing at the door and knocking. If anyone listens to my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he will eat with me.

To me this is saying that God has chosen to bestow His grace upon us by providing a way for us. It is on our part to “open the door” and allow God into our lives.

In conclusion to what I'm trying to say is, Sure God chooses us but he also gives us the Free will so that, like you said in your video “freely love him”.

I agree however that it is free will that give love the substance that it needs. If the subject does not have a choice, then it cannot be love. I think that this is an important thing to understand when it comes to understanding sin and salvation (as I pointed out in the video).

NICE VIDEO. VERY DEEP. SIN DOES SEPERATE US FROM GOD BUT I DONT THINK IT WOULD PUT OUR SALVATION IN JEPARDY. ALOT OF FELLOW CHRISTIANS THINK THAT AFTER THEY TAKE CHRIST IN THEIR LIFE THAT THEY ARE ALLWAYS UNDER THE HOLY MICROSCOPE. LIKE IF THEY BACK SLIDE OR MESS UP THEY LOSE THEIR SALVATION. Thanks for coming by again Jim! You start to go a little deeper into the topic of “loosing slavation” than this video intended to cover, but in doing so you raise some great questions. I hope to post some more stuff on this topic sometime.

While I agree that there is nothing that we can do to make God not love us, I do think that we can walk away from our salvation (just as we can walk into it). People can walk into and out of marriages, and I think that salvation can be exited in the same way. The only difference is that God will not walk away from this relationship (even, as you point out, if we sin in the future).

But discussion also brings up the point that (I think) if someone decides to walk away from their salvation, then I almost question how genuine it was in the first place….. With the type of salvation that I know (and have experienced) I don't understand how someone could walk away….
