All writing submissions for BibleDude.net will be done directly in our self-hosted WordPress application. This means that rather than sending Word documents, text files, or emails with your post, you can be granted Contributor access and will be able to submit your post directly for review.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Email dan[at]bibledude[dot]net with the following information:
    • Your name
    • Your email address
    • Your blog/website URL (if you have one)
  2. After we grant your “Contributor” access you can add your profile’s bio, social media profiles, and photo.
  3. When you’re ready, just go to “Add New” in the Posts menu to write your post.
  4. When you’re done writing, click the “Submit for Review” button for our editorial review and publication to the site.

The editorial team review will check the content, and add appropriate links and images to the post (if not already done by you).

Link Guidelines
If you are adding links to your content yourself, then please use this general rule of thumb when selecting a link target. If you are linking to other content on BibleDude.net, please set the link to open in the same window. If you are linking to content on any other website, please set the link to open in a new window. In the editorial review we will verify all links, and we reserve the right to add/remove links as appropriate.

Image Guidelines
While we want to have relevant images on every post, we also try to be sensitive to copyright guidelines. Normally our editorial review will worry about adding these images prior to publishing the post. But if there is a particular image that you would like to use, then please ensure that it is public domain or creative commons rights.

WordPress Tutorials
If you are not familiar with the WordPress platform, then don’t freak out! It’s a great platform, and is relatively easy to use. WordPress has a little tutorial on Writing Posts, but you can also Google a bunch of other resources on using WordPress.

If you have questions at any time, please feel free to email dan[at]bibledude[dot]net.
